Radical Submission to Jesus
On the closing verses of the Sermon on the Mount:
“The sermon ends with what has been implicit throughout it—the demand for radical submission to the exclusive lordship of Jesus, who fulfills the Law and the Prophets and warns the disobedient that the alternative to total obedience, true righteousness, and life in the kingdom is rebellion, self-centeredness, and eternal damnation.”

Technology Shaves Years Off Missions
“In a remote island village of 1,200 people in Indonesia, a man hooks a notebook computer to a satellite connection and sends a Bible translation in his native Yawa language to a consultant sitting in her home office in Arlington, Texas.
In a Nigerian city of a nearly a million people, a couple working with translation missionaries posts baby pictures on their Facebookpage and talk by Skype to the wife’s parents back in Deltona.
To the nearly 6,000 translators, linguists and educators who work for the Orlando-based Wycliffe Bible Translators in 90 countries, social media and new communications technology has compressed the time it takes to translate a Bible from 12 years on average to seven, said Bob Creson, CEO of Wycliffe, the world’s largest Bible-translation organization.”

Being Missional May Kill Your Church
“Too many of our churches are built on personalities, buildings, and programs instead of Jesus and his mission. We are addicted to our church subcultures, numbers, and personal agendas. If we are honest, we all want our churches to be successful. But what if being successful meant focusing on a few instead of the multitude? What if being successful meant losing a lot of our church crowd who don’t really want to follow Jesus or live on mission anyway?”
